Cory Joseph Blackburn

Cory Joseph Blackburn, 16 months old, passed away while being cuddled by his mommy, grandparents, and great- grandparents  while at St Vincent's Peyton Manning Children's Hospital in Indianapolis, IN on February 21, 2020

Cory is the son of Joshawa Blackburn and Danielle Ellerman.

 This precious little angel brought joy to so many people with his contagious smile and his happy soul. I am blessed to have been chosen to be his mommy. Cory has been a fighter from birth and was a true miracle.. His favorite show was puppy dog pals. He loved his taggies, sitting in his rocker, and playing with his toys, and everyone who adored him. Cory enjoyed attention from everyone, but of course, most of all he loved his mommy; his face would light up just hearing her voice. 

 In addition to his parents Cory is survived by; his big half- brother Joshawa Blackburn and a soon to be brother or sister; Grandparents, Brian and Christina Siewers; Maternal great grandparents, Bruce and Mary Litherland; Honorary grandma, Dianna Ellerman; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. 

Cory Joins his paternal grandfather Cory Blackburn, great uncle Brad Ellerman, and cousin Kyla McKinney in heaven. 

Visitation for Cory will be held Monday February 24, 2020 from 10 A.M. until 1:30 P.M. with a Funeral Service following at 1:30 P.M. with Pastor Kenny Mitchell officiating at the Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home, Vincennes Chapel, 313 Church Street Vincennes IN. 47591. Following the service he will be laid to rest at Memorial Park Cemetery in Vincennes.  Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home at www.fredrickandson.com to help defray funeral expenses. Online condolences may also be left for the family on the funeral homes website. 

The family would like to thank the PICU Staff at the Peyton Manning Children's Hospital for their amazing care and loving Cory as their own.
