Charles W. James, age 69, of Bicknell, Indiana, passed away on July 1, 2026, in Vincennes, IN. He was born on June 10, 1957, in Indianapolis, Indiana, and lived a life marked by hard work and devotion to family.

Charles attended college for mechanics education, a path that reflected both his natural ability and his lifelong interest in understanding how things worked. He built his career as a mechanic for forklifts, where he earned the respect of those who knew him for his skill, reliability, and determination. Later, he went on to own his own business, a testament to his strong work ethic and the pride he took in providing for those he loved.

He was a man who loved to work and fix things, and he found satisfaction in being useful and dependable. Charles also enjoyed fishing, a pastime that gave him peace and time to reflect. Above all else, he loved his family deeply and treasured the moments he shared with them. His presence brought strength, humor, and comfort to those around him.

Charles was a member of the Nazarene Church in Bicknell, where his faith was an important part of his life. His church family and friends will remember him as a kind and faithful man who lived with sincerity and purpose.

He is survived by his children, Ashley Wallace, Eddie James, Melissa James, Steven Mulkey, Robert Mulkey, Melissa, and Grace Christine; his 20 grandchildren, Dixie, Audrey, Maci, River, Carson, Zach, Lilly, Daisy, Madison, Jeffery, Dustin, Cassie, Luca, Clemy, Ollie, Franklin, Jude, Kaden, Ellie, and Kyle; and his siblings, Terry James, Pam James, and Gayle James. He was preceded in death by his parents, John W. and Theresa M. “Walsh” James, and his sister, Patricia “Patty” James.

Charles W. James will be remembered for the life he built through perseverance, the love he gave so freely, and the example he set through his work, faith, and devotion to family. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched, and he will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
