Anissa Darlene Everett, beloved daughter, sister, mother, friend, and cherished member of the Bicknell community, passed away on June 23, 2025, at the age of 57. She was born on February 29, 1968, in Mattoon, Illinois, to her adoring parents, the late, Russell Aaron Horn and Shirley Jean “Poffinbarger” Newton, and she survives.
Anissa's life was one of dedication and joy, a testimony to her loving, kind, and funny nature. Those privileged to have known her will remember her laughter, enchanting smile, and the genuine care she had for those around her. Anissa attended a local high school where she made many lifelong friends who stood by her through all seasons of life.
Her journey as a homemaker was filled with the same passion and enthusiasm she had for life itself. Anissa crafted a home that was not just a place of shelter, but a sanctuary of love and laughter for both family and friends. It was her kind and loving nature that transformed everyday moments into cherished memories for her children, Casey Gelviro (Lito) of Wentzville, Missouri, and Brandon Scott Crisp (Savannah) of Orlando Florida who survive her and continue her legacy of warmth and compassion. She is also survives by one sister Kelly Greer of Bristol Virgin , two brothers Brad Pedigo of Florida and Dustin Poffinbarger of Vincennes.
Anissa's interests and hobbies were as spirited and diverse as she was. She was known for riding Harleys with a passion that mirrored the freedom she found on the open road. Her love for her Indian scout was profound, and the joy she garnered from this pursuit was infectious. Anissa's penchant for collecting was more than a hobby; it was a reflection of her appreciation for the stories and history behind each treasured find.
Community involvement was another facet of Anissa's multifaceted life. She was an active member of the Bicknell French Club, where she shared her love for culture and camaraderie. Her affinity for biking culminated in her being seen as a diehard biker, embodying the spirit of camaraderie and advocacy that the biking community represents.
As we mourn the loss of Anissa Darlene Everett, we also celebrate her remarkable life—a life lived fully, with every moment infused with love and laughter. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, and her spirit will live on through the kindness she spread and the joy she inspired. Anissa's journey through this world was one marked by the love she gave and the lives she touched, and she will be dearly remembered for the light she brought into this world.
