Alberta M. (Pepmeier) Hunt

Alberta Marie Hunt,85, of Oaktown, Indiana, passed away peacefully on the 16th of December, 2023. Born on June 22, 1938, in Freelandville, Indiana, Alberta was the cherished daughter of the late Zelma Robbins Pepmeier and Albert Pepmeier.

She was the loving matriarch of her family. Her husband, Bill Hunt, whom she adored, preceded her in death, but she leaves behind a legacy through her children: Brad Hunt of Freelandville, Karen Hunt of Freelandville, and Wayne Hunt of Edwardsport.  Her granddaughter Kimberly Hunt, and her great-grandchildren Anna, Aaron, and Emily Mitchum.  Alberta was the last of her siblings, joining her brother, Burton Pepmeier, and sisters Norma Carr, Betty Adams, and an infant sister, Thelma Ruth Pepmeier in eternal rest.

Alberta dedicated many of her years to serving her community as a CNA at the Freelandville Nursing Home and sitting with the elderly. She committed herself with great compassion, providing comfort and care to the elderly who needed assistance the most. Her kindness and gentle spirit were the hallmarks by which she was known.

When not tending to others, Alberta relished her quiet time at home surrounded by family and watching her favorite soap operas on television. These simple pleasures were a testament to a life focused on the joys found in everyday moments.

There will be a visitation held on Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home, Bicknell Chapel, from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. with a service on , Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. also at the funeral home burial will follow in Edwardsport Town Cemetery.
