Ada Mae Sandusky, age 73, of Freelandville, Indiana, passed away on Friday, December 26, 2025, and went home to be with her Lord and Savior, surrounded by love and faith.
Ada was born on February 6, 1952, in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, to Brother Willie Boothe and Viola Boothe, who preceded her in death. She was raised with strong Christian values that guided her throughout her life.
On May 22, 1971, Ada married the love of her life, Phillip Lee Sandusky, and together they built a life centered on faith, family, and service to others. Phillip preceded her in death.
Ada was a devoted mother to her sons, Brian Sandusky of Freelandville, Indiana, and Mark Sandusky and his wife, Michele of Dugger, Indiana. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Cierra Wolfe and her husband, Brandon of Carlisle, Indiana, and Abigail Sandusky of Dugger, Indiana, and a cherished great-grandmother to Constance Sandusky of Carlisle, Indiana.
She is also survived by her brother, Jim Boothe, and his wife, Mary of Walnut Ridge, Arkansas; her sister-in-law, Irene Boothe of Walnut Ridge, Arkansas; and her brother-in-law, Henry Greer of Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, along with several nieces and nephews and many other family members and dear friends who will forever treasure her memory.
In addition to her parents and husband, Ada was preceded in death by her brother, Jack Boothe, and her sister, Betty Greer.
Ada was a faithful member of Freelandville Methodist Church, where her love for the Lord and her servant’s heart were evident to all who knew her. She graduated from Walnut Ridge High School and later attended Oakland City University.
Known for her kind spirit and deep faith, Ada was a true friend to many. She had a gentle way about her, always ready with encouragement, prayer, and love. Her legacy of faith, compassion, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Freelandville Methodist Church.
