Wilma Chester, 98, Freelandville, passed away Sunday, July 8, 2018 at the Freelandville Community Home. Wilma was born February 27, 1920, in Freelandville on her parent’s farm, the daughter of Charles and Henriette (Brocksmith) Hagemeier. She married Robert E. Chester on January 19, 1951. She worked for Indianapolis Avionics, and was a member of the Bethel Church. She enjoyed reading, playing cards, her husband and crossword puzzles.
Wilma is survived by her sons, Grant (Nancy) Chester of Olympia, WA and Bill Chester of Columbus, GA; two grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert E. Chester; sisters, Louise Behrrick, Esther Pontius, Elsie Van Meter and Irene Lampkins; and brothers, Elmer Hagemeier, Fritz Hagemeier and Carl Hagemeier.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Bethel Church with Pastor Mike DeCoursey officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until time of service also at the church. She will be laid to rest at Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society. Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home BIcknell Chapel assisted the family with arrangements.
