Richard Lawrence Kramer

Richard Lawrence “Pooch” Kramer Sr., 87, Vincennes, passed away Thursday, August 31, 2017 at Good Samaritan Hospital. Pooch was born December 9, 1929, in Vincennes, the son of Henry and Josephine Kramer. He married Ola Regina Hunckler on May 30, 1953. He was a welder for Vincennes Welding, Hurricane Ditcher and a foreman for the Alfalfa Division at Schenk’s Farm. He served in the United States Marine Corp. He was a member of the Vincennes VFW Auxiliary Post 1157, 40 et 8 Vincennes, and a member of St. Francis Xavier Parish.
Pooch is survived by his children, Keith (Janine) Kramer of Bicknell, Judy Kramer of Vincennes, Jo (Francis) Balthus of Vincennes, Dick (Victoria) Kramer of Vincennes and Allan (Sandy) McGowan of Vincennes; grandchildren, Jennifer Kramer, Toby Kramer, Scott Balthus, Heath Balthus, Rich Kramer, Porsche Cleghorn, Tyler McGowan and Tanner McGowan; nine great-grandchildren, Haley and Heidi Kramer, Annistyn and Waylon Balthus, Clayton, Cameron and Cadin Kramer, and Sophia and Sterling Cleghorn; brother, Robert Kramer of Vincennes; sisters, Monica Carie of Vincennes and Barbara Carie of Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ola Kramer on July 27, 2011; brothers, Olan, Raymond and Wilfred Kramer; sisters, Hilda McGowan, Rosalie McCoy, Adaline Carie and Anna Marie Lane; and grandson, Chad Balthus.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 5,2017 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home Vincennes Chapel, 313 Church St. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Thomas Catholic Church Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at 11:00 AM with Rev.
