Paul Milton Scott

Paul M. Scott, born September 9, 1932 in Bicknell, IN. Parents, Albert and Freda (Westfall) Scott.  Paul graduated from Bicknell High School in 1950.  He served in the U.S. Air force 1952-1956.  He was a gunner and flew missions in the Korean War.  He married Jeanette (Brown) Scott on December 27, 1954 at St. John’s Catholic Church, Vincennes.  She survives.  Paul worked in the grocery business most of his adult life.  He retired in 1980 from Kroger after 22 years.  He then operated a small grocery store with his wife and family in Westphalia, IN for 6 years.  After closing the store he went to work for Angell Food Stores in Linton and Sullivan and retired from there after working 27 years.  He was a former Vigo Township Trustee and had to resign after 3 years due to ill health.  He most recently worked at Mackey’s Grocery in Bicknell for a few hours a day just because he loved the grocery business.  

He attended St Philip Neri Catholic Church in Bicknell, IN where he served as Lector and Communion Minister.  He was proud to receive the Bishop Brute Award along with his wife in 2005, given to outstanding members of the Evansvile Diocese.   He belonged to the Knights of Columbus in Vincennes and was past president of the Lions Club in Sandborn, IN.

He is survived by his wife Jeanette and children:  Steve Scott of Bicknell, Greg (Linda) Scott of Glendale, AZ, Paula Cole of Danville, IL, Karen (Kenny) Perry of Mitchell, IN, Doug (Carol) Scott of Colorado Springs, CO and Michelle (J.R.) Field of Vincennes, IN. A brother Don (Carolan) Scott of Bicknell, sisters Kathleen Pack of Vincennes, and Margaret Hart of Bicknell.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, brothers Ralph Scott and Ray Scott, a sister Mary Cradick, and a daughter-in-law Sherry (Bright) Scott.

Visitation will be at the Fredrick and Son McClure Utt Funeral Home Bicknell Chapel on Wednesday, May 17th from 4-7:00 pm.

A funeral mass will be concelebrated by Father Dave Fleck and Fr Tim Tenbarge at 11:00 am on Thursday, May 18th at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Bicknell with a graveside service at the Bicknell Memorial Cemetery.
