Patty Jean Arthur

Patty Jean (Lankford) Arthur, 87, Fairfax, VA, formerly of Bicknell, passed away Sunday, December 16, 2018 at her residence. Patty was born April 19, 1931, in Vincennes, IN, the daughter of Carbon Sr. and Golda (Seals) Lankford. She married Francis Arthur on August 6, 1950. She was a classroom assistant with the Indianapolis Public School System and the KCARC. She was a member of the Bicknell First Baptist Church and helped with the Let’s Grow classes. She enjoyed gardening.
Patty is survived by her children, Rebecca (Michael) Minton of Hilton Head, SC, Christine (Bill) Grabbe of Oaktown, Elizabeth (Deep) Motwani of Brampton, Ontario and Jennifer (Nedal) Khatib of Fairfax Station, VA; twelve grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister, June Fletcher of Vincennes; brother, Guy Lankford of Carlisle, IN; and son-in-law, Michael McDowell of Colorado Springs, CO.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Francis Arthur on March 20, 2006; daughter, Ellen McDowell; and brothers, David Lankford, Carbon Lankford Jr., and Jackie Ray Lankford.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Bicknell First Baptist Church with Pastor John Trotter officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 4, 2019 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM also at the church. She will be laid to rest at Memorial Park Cemetery.
