M. John Lane, 81, of Vincennes, passed away on August 16, 2019, at Saint Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born on May 28, 1938, the son of Farrell and Clara Halter Lane.
He was a member of Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church, a recipient of the Simon Brute Award, a member of the Knights of Columbus, and the owner of M. John Lane Builders, Inc.
John married Patricia Frey Lane on November 7, 1959, and she survives him. He is also survived by their children Jane Ann Marchino and her husband, Jim, of Glen Carbon, IL; Susan Evans and her husband, Ed, of Mooresville; J.P. Lane and his wife, Jo Ann of Vincennes; and Carol Ann Lane and Jeff Boyer of Vincennes. He is survived by his grandchildren: Brian Marchino and his wife, Courtney of Newburgh; Lauren Glenn and her husband, Anthony of Greenwood; Kurt Evans and his wife, Kelsey and their children, Rowan and Graham of Westfield; Kyle Evans and Jessica and their children, Haven, Addyson, and Lane of Vincennes; Aaron Hartzburge and his wife, Casey of Vincennes; Jonathan Lane and Brittney and Halle of Vincennes; and Jeremy Lane and his fiancé, Mykaela Kotter of Vincennes.
Other survivors include his brother Marvis Lane and wife, Dottie of Vincennes; his sisters, Martha Davis and her husband, Dave Davis of Vincennes; Shyla Ford of Vincennes, Millie Greentree of Vincennes, Betty Murry of Farmersburg, Erma Barmes of Vincennes; his sister-in-law, Kathy Lane of Vincennes; and his brother-in-law, Dave Roche of Weatherford, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Farrell and Clara Lane; brother, Wayne Lane; and sister, Judy Roche.
Mass of Christian burial for M. John Lane will be held on Wednesday, August 21, at Saint John’s Catholic Church, 820 Main Street, Vincennes, IN at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will occur from 12 noon until the time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Saint Vincent de Paul Society or the Salvation Army.
