Gertrude Helen (Pieper) Hagemeier, 94, Westphalia, passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at her son’s residence. Gertrude was born January 19, 1924, in Knox County, the daughter of Martin and Selma (Buescher) Pieper. She married Arnold Hagemeier on November 17, 1944. She was a homemaker and a lifelong member of Bethel Church. She also was a member of the Bethel Women’s Guild, Friendly Circle Sunday school, and very involved in quilting with the Bethel Women’s Guild and at home with various friends. Gertrude was an avid gardener.
Gertrude is survived by her children, Robert (Jill) Hagemeier of Sullivan, William (Pam) Hagemeier of Graysville, Margaret (Bob) Woody of Crawfordsville, Nancy (Dan) Brown of Sullivan, Susan Hagemeier and husband, Steve Kinchloe of Dallas, TX and Diane (Brian) Irwin of Rome, TX; and fifteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arnold Hagemeier in 2005; and brother, Martin Pieper.
Visitation will be on Monday, April 2, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Bethel Church. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at 11:00 AM also at the church with Pastor Mike DeCoursey officiating. She will be laid to rest at Bethel Cemetery.
