William Orion Richards

William Orion “Pete” Richards, 95, Duggar, passed away Friday, August 18, 2017 at his daughter’s residence. Pete was born January 4, 1922, in Knox county, the son of Jess and LuLa (Bird) Richards. He married Betty Woolard on April 30, 1946. He was a truck driver. Pete was a member of the Indiana Prairie Baptist Church, the Vincennes VFW and Vincennes American Legion.
Pete is survived by his sons, Fred Richards of Bruceville, Jack Richards of Freelandville, Danny Richards of Edwardsport, Michael Richards of Vincennes, Bill Richards of Vincennes and David Richards of Stevensville, MI; daughters, Betty Riggle of Matheis, WV, Mary Richards of Monroe City, Jeanette Walls of Sullivan and Barbara Schroeder of Dugger; 41 grandchildren; several great and great-great grandchildren; brothers, Orville Richards of Bicknell and Roy Richards of Lawrenceburg, KY; and sister, Mae Moyes of Lawrenceville, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty Woolard Richards; and sons, John Richards, Terry Richards and an infant son at birth.
 
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 25, 2017 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home Bicknell Chapel. Military honors conducted by the All-Weather Firing Squad will be performed immediately at 7:00 PM.
