Virginia Lee (Brown) Johanningsmeier

Virginia Lee (Brown) Johanningsmeier, 85, Vincennes, passed away Monday, March 20, 2017 at Good Samaritan Hospital. Virginia was born September 20, 1931, in Vincennes, the daughter of Louis and Bonnie (Mayall) Brown. She married Elmer Johanningsmeier. She was a homemaker and mother, and a member of the Salem United Church of Christ.

She is survived by her daughters, Phyllis (Mark) Montgomery of Chesterton, IN and Susan (John) Olesik of Dublin, OH; sons, Richard Johanningsmeier of Westphalia and Robert Johanningsmeier of Westphalia; three grandchildren, Amber Kraft, Aaron Montgomery, and Kristi Olesik; and great-grandchild, Riley Montgomery.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Bonnie Brown; husband, Elmer, on April 13, 2009.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2017 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Salem United Church of Christ. Funeral services will be held after visitation Saturday at 12:00 PM also at the church with Pastor Bryan Taylor officiating. She will be laid to rest at Salem Cemetery. Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home Bicknell Chapel assisted the family with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salem United Church of Christ.
