Paul Vance Koenig

Paul Vance Koenig, 72, Bicknell, passed away Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Daviess Community Hospital. Paul was born July 19, 1945, in Vincennes, the son of Paul Edwin and Helen Marie (Wininger) Koenig. Paul worked as a police officer for the Bicknell Police Department in the late 1970s and then was the Fire Chief for the Bicknell Fire Department for several years. He currently owned and operated Koenig Heating and Electric. He served in the United States Air Force, stationed in the Philippines during the Vietnam War. He loved to go fishing.
Paul is survived by his daughter, Jill (Jason) Fox of Freelandville; son, Paul Eric (Penney) Koenig of Bicknell; grandchildren, Ashley Koenig, Shyla Fox, Justin Fox, Mason Spangle and Madison Koenig; and great-grandchild, Brealynn Hatfield; and companion, Susan McMillan of Freelandville.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A private graveside service will be held at Bicknell Memorial Cemetery with Jim Williams officiating. Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home Bicknell Chapel assisted the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be made at www.fredrickandson.com.
