Paul J. Hess

Paul J. Hess, 86, Vincennes, passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at Good Samaritan Hospital. Paul was born November 1, 1931, in Vincennes, the son of Lawrence H. and Marceline A. (Mouzin) Hess. He married Patricia Zeabart on January 12, 1957. He worked for the Army Corp of Engineers Locks and Dams. He was a member of the 40 et 8, where he served as the Chief De Gare in 1983, St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, and the VFW. He served in the United States Air Force from 1951 to 1954.

Paul is survived by his wife, Patricia; children, David (Kimberly) Hess of Brookville, IN, Paula Rowe of North Bend, OH, Larry (Amy) Hess of Middletown, OH, and Jennifer (Richard) Shaw of Vincennes; daughter-in-law, Tina Adams of Vincennes; fourteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; brother, Lawrence E. (Betty Jo) Hess of Vincennes; sisters, Marge (Bob) Hill of Princeton and Jane (Fred) Pulley of Clarksville, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Mark Steven Hess; infant granddaughter, Elizabeth Rowe; brother, James K. Hess; and sister-in-law, Edna Hess.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 10:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Rev. Dave Fleck officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 3, 2017 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home Vincennes Chapel, 313 Church St. He will be laid to rest at St. Vincent Cemetery.
