Mary Whitson Obituary

Mary Louise (Wilcox) Whitson passed away peacefully at the age of 80 on March 17, 2018 at Bridgepointe Health Campus in Vincennes, IN. 

 

Mary was born November 14, 1937 in Washington, IN to William and Elsie (Beard) Wilcox. She graduated from Washington High School in 1955 and lived most of her life in Vincennes, IN.  She was preceded in death by her parents and son-in-law Robert Baldridge.

 

Mary will be lovingly remembered by her son David Whitson, daughters Babette (Chris) Akins, Nona (Jay) Baker, step-son Jeff Whitson, and step-daughter Gina (Ted) Greenwood. She is also survived by the father of her children, Glen Whitson and his wife Mary C. Whitson. Her legacy will live on through her grandson Ryan Baker and granddaughters Erica Wyndham, Emily Roberts, Christi Price, Jennifer Noel, Lindsay Baker, and Katelyn Whitson as well as her nine great-grandchildren. Mary will be greatly missed by her life-long friends Sue Ann Doyle and her husband Louis of Washington, IN and Brenda Richardson of Vincennes, IN. 

 

A private memorial gathering to celebrate her life will be held at a later date.

 

Mary Whitson was, as her mother would have said, “A mother who gave her all... No matter how great, no matter how small.”
