Lawrence Eugene Kiefer, 83, Vincennes, passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at St. Francis Hospice in Indianapolis . Lawrence was born December 23, 1933, in Vincennes, the son of Walter and Margaret Kiefer. He married Gwendolyn McGaughey. He worked for Associated Medical Products and served in the United States Army. He enjoyed hunting, coin collecting, his coffee clutch at Hardee’s and being with his grandchildren. He was also a member of Old Cathedral Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus.
Lawrence is survived by his sons, Steve (Susan) Kiefer and Tim (Cristi) Kiefer; daughter, Karen (Terry) Mandel; four grandsons; a granddaughter; a great-grandson; brothers, Walter Kiefer of Massachusetts, Richard Kiefer of Shelbyville, Dave Kiefer of Vincennes and Robert Kiefer of Pittsboro, IN; and sister, Mary Kay Weir of Indianapolis.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Gwendolyn; and brother, Don Kiefer.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 12:00 PM at Old Cathedral Catholic Church with Rev. Dave Fleck officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 11, 2017 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home Vincennes Chapel, 313 Church St. He will be laid to rest at Mt.
