Larry L Toney

Larry L Toney, 83, of Oaktown, passed away March 25, 2017 at Good Samaritan Hospital. Larry was born July 20, 1933, in Knox County, the son of Carl W. and Alice M. (Brooks) Toney. He graduated from Freelandville High School in 1951 . He married Doris E Baughman on June 10th, 1954. Larry retired from the United States Air Force, serving 20 years from 1952 to 1972, then was a coal miner for Wabash Mine for Amax Coal Company and was a UMWA member . He was also a member of the Bicknell French Club, Bicknell VFW, Bicknell Elks, American Legion in Elnora, American Legion in Vincennes, Bicknell Elks, and the 40 et 8.
Larry is survived by his children, Brad (Angie) Toney of Oaktown and Susan Davis of Booneville; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Doris, on May 15, 2013; twin great-grandchildren, Jude Michael and Audrey Nicole Toney.
A graveside service will be held at a later date at the Freelandville Christian Cemetery with the All-Weather Firing Squad performing military honors.
