Eldon Lee Phillips

Eldon Lee Phillips, 73, Edwardsport, passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at Good Samaritan Hospital with his family by his side. Eldon was born September 29, 1943, in Oaktown, the son of Estal and Laura (Grizzle) Phillips. He married Lynda Bobette Thompson on December 20, 1984. He loved NHRA drag racing and NASCAR. He also loved planting a garden and playing with cats. He graduated from Pleasantville High School in 1961 and served in the United States Army from 1961-1964 in Germany. He also loved his 1981 Corvette.
Eldon will be missed by his wife, Bobette Phillips; daughters, Kiley (Michael) Koenig , Laura (Nofel) Harper III; grandchildren, Livie and Leevi Koenig, all of Vincennes; his special granddogs, Max, Chevy, Smoke and Koal.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Estal Paul Phillips.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 20, 2017 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home Bicknell Chapel with Pastor John Moreland officiating. Funeral services will be held immediately after visitation at 4:00 PM also at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Camp Wildwood Foundation.
